Education for Empowerment is the child's place at the desk. Development in Education is everything that has to be true around that desk for it to work: a trained teacher, a usable classroom, a skill that leads somewhere. Each is funded and recorded separately.

Transforming lives through knowledge and skills
Education is the part of this work that compounds. A child who stays in school changes what is possible for a household, and then for the next household along. GARD works to keep places open, materials stocked and teachers paid, in places where any one of those three failing ends a child's schooling for good.

02 - Development in Education
Strengthening the systems that make learning possible
A school is only as strong as what stands behind it: trained teachers, a classroom worth sitting in, and a skill that leads somewhere afterwards. This programme invests in that structure directly, rather than in the individual child's place at the desk, which is what Education for Empowerment already does.
