How GARD handles personal data, and what happens when you support our work.
Who we are
Global Aid for Relief and Development (GARD) is a not-for-profit organisation based in London, United Kingdom. For any question about your data, contact [email protected].
What we collect
- Contributions. When you support our work, payment is processed by Stripe. GARD never receives or stores your card number. We receive the amount, the currency, the programme you chose, and the email address you gave Stripe.
- Messages. If you email us, we hold that message and your address so we can reply.
- Applications. If you apply for a scholarship or a role, the application form composes an email from your own mail account, so what reaches us is whatever you choose to send. That normally includes your contact and academic details, and any documents you attach, such as a CV, certificate or identity document. We hold it to assess your application, and we do not use it for anything else.
- Site usage. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we hold it
To process and account for contributions, to reply to enquiries, and to meet our record-keeping obligations. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it except with the processors needed to run the service, principally Stripe for payments.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it where we have no continuing obligation to keep it. Write to [email protected].
Payments and Stripe
Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe on Stripe’s own hosted checkout page, under their privacy policy. Recurring monthly support can be cancelled at any time.
